Superior

This personal project was inspired by the islands on Lake Superior. It was quite a challenge to achieve a result that even slightly resembles those stratified islands. When I stumbled upon these great 3D brushes at textures.com, I thought I'd download them for a test ride, and try them on VUE's heightfield terrains.... although they were originally created as sculpting brushes and alphas for ZBrush. (I also tested them in ZBrush for a future project)

The 3D brushes I used in this project. Some of them were modified a bit in PS, so I got more variations to work with.
